Dynamic content from blogs
Adding blogs to the mix of your Intranet, not only opens up self-publishing within your organization, it provides you with RSS feeds, a great way to make your site more dynamic. Below, I am pulling RSS feeds from my golf blog as an example. Try getting your exec team to blog, even if you have to ghost it for them. You can then move their blog content to any area on your site via RSS.
This entire page is an example of dynamic content fed in by blogs. Everything here except this block of text, and the blue block and text above, are content being feed in via RSS from example blog posts. Imagine your executive team and key internal voices blogging, and your job is deciding where and when to post all the great user generated content. Syndication is King
The content below is syndicated from our Exec Blogs category and displayed in 1/3 width blocks below. It is also the same content from the same source as the “slider” content at the top of the page. This is possible from Really Simple Syndication (RSS feeds), a form of XML that describes content generated from a WordPress blog. Not only is this possible from your own company blogs, you can also pull in dynamic content from a variety of sources on the web.
